MES helps cultural organisations put more of their work online.

The company was founded by a small group of reformed media types with an interest in cultural writing and record-keeping, in-depth conversations, and the great, evolving problem of how to get readers and audiences engaged with thoughtful culture in the online space.

Our activities are mainly divided into two strands: initiatives that collect and digitise existing materials, unlocking them for a wider audience; and collaborative work that creates new content – interviews, films, case studies, documentary pieces – to extend the reach of cultural projects and to deepen the conversations that surround them.

We work on commission as well as initiating our own projects. Recent work includes the design and teaching of an online course for Stockholm University of the Arts, for which were thinking about how best to host inter-student dialogue online, and the creation of an oral histories website for NoFit State Circus (funded by the Heritage National Lottery), telling some of the energetic, unbelievable and ribald stories that lie behind the company's 30 year history.
